About the Department
The Department of Tamil was started in the year
2001. It offers part:1 Tamil for the
first year and second year students to make them understand and internalize the
importance of Tamil. Since, it is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar
University Tirunelveli, it follows the syllabus pattern of the university. The department conducts various competitions
such as poetry writing, Elocution; Essay writing, Rangoli competition during
pongal celebration. The department has also brought
out the talents of the students by making them to participate in competitions
held at college and inter-college levels.
The department has brought eminent literary personalities to give
lectures on various topics.
